The Essentials

Key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Developing statistical models and methodologies to predict, quantify or forecast various operational and performance metrics. Quick question for you - click here
  • Performing data analyses; developing algorithms and computational solutions as necessary to support the business units.
  • Providing expertise and support when implementing model results in ongoing business processes.
  • Ensuring data quality and reliability, and providing feedback to business process owners and to the IT department.
  • Identifying new data sources that will maximize analytical capabilities for the various business units.
  • Observing current systems and processes and interacting with appropriate personnel to collect and analyze information to support data modeling and analyses.

  • Preparing management reports defining the problem, documenting the analyses and recommending courses of action in order to determine the best outcomes.
  • Developing business methods and procedures, including accounting systems, file systems, office systems, logistics systems, and production schedules.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
  • Master's degree in Economics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or similar discipline and/or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of demonstrated practical experience performing analyses on large data sets utilizing data mining techniques, including:
    • Analyzing statistical and predictive models and interpreting the results using analytic software such as SAS or SPSS.
    • Extracting data from large relational databases using SQL.
  • The ability to make strategic recommendations and guide executive decision-making by identifying the anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts of alternatives.
  • The ability to identify root causes of problems, create effective practical solutions and implement solutions under the tactical demands of business operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities; must showcase a consultant mentality to work across the business and span communication styles to interact with diverse stakeholders and personalities.
  • A consummate team player approach with the ability to contribute effectively to teams.
  • Experience with SAS toolsets is a plus.
  • Programming experience, preferably in C or C#, is a plus.
